Coffee Grounds: Trash or Treasure?



We’ve been drinking coffee for longer than we can remember. We drink so much of it that we’ve made it one of the most consumed beverages in the world. Not only has it been found to have weight loss and skin benefits but it can make us less stressed AND smarter? We’ll definitely have another cup!

   Here is why we should add coffee to our skincare routine:


1.      Coffee contains specific compounds (including caffeine) that suppress cells that turn cancerous in the sun hence reducing inflammation, absorbing harmful sun rays and detoxifying carcinogens.Scientists have found that people who drank four or more cups a day were twenty percent less likely to develop malignant melanoma, a type of cancer that occurs on cells that produce pigmentation.

2.      It exfoliates dry skin leaving it silky smooth. Coffee grounds slough off excess dry skin leaving it smooth and refreshed.
3.      It temporarily minimizes the appearance of cellulite. Caffeine in coffee helps to improve circulation and removes excess water from the skin making it appear firmer.
So how can we use coffee to gain all these benefits?
